When quirky dresser Yu Masui hit London Collections: Men in a Sibling pom pom hat in January, we thought it was the London journalist up to his usual fashion tricks. Fast forward to the spring/summer 2014 shows and Yu was back with a Comme Des Garçons rabbit ears cap, and a host of animal eared friends to boot.

Anna Dello Russo couldn’t resist pairing her monochrome Valentino dress with Comme Des Garçons’s Mickey Mouse ears in Milan, while Victoria Beckham, who aptly calls her Twitter followers fashion bunnies, donned the Commes rabbit cap for a candid phone snap in New York. VB has also proved partial to Maison Michel’s lace cat ears in the past.

Two weeks after fashion week season came to a close Karl Lagerfeld styled Rita Ora in petit deer ears and antler horns on a midnight shoot in Paris. A day later, Peaches Geldof got in on the action with a pair of cat ears at entrepreneur Richard Lugner’s birthday bash in Vienna.

Let us not forget Sarah Jessica Parker’s bead embellished Mickey ears at the unveiling of the Barneys’ Disney Electric Holiday window display last November which, dare we say it, might have stemmed the whole furore.
