For those not in the know, the fundraising gala is held every year to mark the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s fashion exhibition held at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The theme of the exhibition provides the dresscode for the event’s attendees and has a long history of attracting some of the most interesting and often unusual red carpet creations.
Previous year’s themes have included: Anglomania, Poiret, Superheroes, The House of Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, American Women, Jackie Kennedy, Punk and last year’s Charles James theme.
The 2015 exhibition is China: Through The Looking Glass.
