Let’s start on a high, because, believe me, it’s pretty much all downhill from here… Former Pussycat Doll, Ashley Roberts smouldered in a sexy silver sheath dress, Doctor Who’s assistant Jenna-Louise Coleman looked simply beautiful in a gothic black dress and glowing make-up, while Naomi Campbell – not a regular at the NTAs it has to be said – went all out vamp (in a classy way, mind) in Michael Kors.
Red carpet faux pas
Bet you can’t guess which soap Jennifer Metcalfe (left) is in? Oh, you can…? Yes, there’s always at least one Hollyoaks starlet who gets carried away with their FHM Sexiest Women List rating and decides to get it all out at the NTAs. Congratulations, Metcalfe, you may not have collected an award for acting, but this dress should assure you climb a few more spots on next year’s countdown. Meanwhile, Eastenders actress, Rachel Wilde, thought she would treat the red carpet crowd (rumoured to have been bussed in from Benefits Street), to an eyeful of her blue pants. If you’ve ever wondered whether Wilde is a waxer, this outfit certainly set the record straight.
The award for Most Ridiculous Hair was a tie this year between Eastenders star Jessie Wallace’s 1940s Victory Roll and I’m A Celebrity contestant Amy Willerton’s lion’s mane.
True Facts: Corrie’s Kylie looks scarier in real life; Debbie Rush’s cleavage is getting it’s own soap opera; Natalie Cassidy came straight from Morrisons where she filled up her enormous bag with Mr Kipling’s Fondant Fancies, a jar of olives (black, no stones), a box of Weetabix and a loaf of sliced white (supermarket own brand).
Haven’t The Saturdays let themselves go?
Catherine Tydesley, you are a hairdresser in Corrie, not a best actress nominee at the Oscars. And who exactly are you hiding under that ridonkulous skirt? Security!
Lord Grantham’s wife came as a carton of Tropicana.
Joey Essex and Jeff Brazier prove you can’t beat a cheeky Essex chappie in a too-tight suit. Oh wait… sorry, my mistake, they don’t…
Here’s a troubling trio. No idea who this pizza-hatted, pool slide fancier is on the left, but wowsers, he looks like terrible company. Keith Lemon, however, looks like fabulous company despite all contrary sartorial suggestions. As for Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews, apparently a queue formed backstage for people to slap his smug face with his obnoxious slippers. Reason to go to the NTAs alone.
And since we started on a high, we’ll finish on not one, but two. Doesn’t Grimmy look dapper in his Prince of Wales checked jacket?…
…and OMG, yes readers, this IS Jennie McAlpine AKA Fizz from Corrie. Doesn’t she scrub up well? Full marks for hair, make-up and understatedly elegant dress. Fellow TV stars, take note.
