With a face so pretty it makes us want to weep – she’s one of very few who can pull off a shaved head – she favours bold blocks of colour and simple shapes that flatter her athletic figure. Our favourite outfit so far? The printed Miu Miu dress she wore to the film’s Los Angeles premiere, closely followed by the canary yellow J. Mendel gown she sported last night.

That she shares a stylist with Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery is a promise of things to come next awards season. Dockery has had some knockout red carpet numbers – the bowed Prada gown she wore to the Emmys stands out – so there’s every hope that Erlanger will work the same magic on Nyong’o.

With an impressive rosta of designers already kitting Nyong’o out – Christopher Kane, Rodarte, Prada, Roland Mouret and Antonio Berardi to name but a few – the buzz around this girl is so big we’d be very surprised if there weren’t more big names throwing their wares at her.
