Until January 20, Luca had been in Caracas, Venezuela, supervising the search operations, although since his departure he has handed over to a “close family friend”, reports WWD. He will reportedly return to the city in February “to personally follow the operations of a ship equipped for deep sea submarine research.”
Before embarking on the search for the plane carrying Vittorio Missoni, his partner Maurizia Castiglioni, two friends and the aircraft’s two crew member, the specialist ships will look for another plane which also disappeared without a trace on January 4, 2007.
The search is being conducted by the Venezuelan government, who, Luca confirmed, are looking at all possibilities for the aircraft’s mysterious disappearance, not just those that involve the sea.
