Oops: Danniella Westbrook's car was repossessed, not stolen
Danniella Westbrook reported her car stolen to the police – without realising it had been REPOSSESSED.
The former EastEnders actress, 40, revealed the theft to her 105,000 fans on Twitter last week.
She raged: "Just walked out my house my cars been stolen. Fuming."
But the Mirror can exclusively reveal she hadn’t been keeping up with payments on the motor, which she puts down to a “misunderstanding”.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Danniella said: “This is a complete and utter misunderstanding, I really did think that my car had been stolen.
“Embarrassingly, I forgot to set up a direct debit so didn’t realise that the payments were not being made.
"After several burglaries and a marriage breakdown, the car was the last thing on my mind.
“Had the hire company wanted the car back, all they had to do was ask and I would had driven it back to them myself. It’s a relief to know the car wasn’t stolen though".
Her toyboy fiance Tom Richards, 24, also appealed for help in finding the black Peugeot, taken from outside her new home in Medway, Kent.
The cage fighter, 16 years her junior, even posted a photograph of the car’s number plate
He tweeted: “@westbrookdanni car just been stolen, if anyone sees this can you please contact the police."
Danniella, who played Sam Mitchell in EastEnders, split from her husband Kevin Jenkins, in January. She has recently reported a spate of burglaries at her former house in Essex.
