Harry Potter star David Legeno was found dead in Death Valley, California, on Sunday.
According to TMZ.com, Inyo County officials say an autopsy was performed and the cause of death has been determined as heat stroke.
The mixed martial arts expert – who played werewolf Fenrir Greyback in three of the Harry Potter movies – had been hiking in the desert.
The body of the 50-year-old was discovered by hikers in a remote wash below Manly Beacon, West of Zabriskie Point.
There were no signs of foul play.
Death Valley, a basin 282ft below sea level, is the hottest, driest national park in the US, with temperatures regularly reaching more than 100F.

The actor, who played werewolf Fenrir Greyback in three of the blockbuster movies, was hiking in the desert before he was found by another hiking group on Sunday.
He is believed to have died of heat related issues, and there were no signs of foul play.
The mixed martial arts teacher was found in a remote wash below Manly Beacon, west of Zabriskie Point in Death Valley.
Legeno’s agent confirmed the tragic news to the Mirror today, and it is reported a coroner will determine the final cause of death.
David worked as a bouncer and wrestler and his nickname was Lone Wolf before he took up boxing and started working in the movie industry.
His first major film role was in Guy Richie’s Snatch and he has also starred in Batman Behins and Centurion along with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2.
The actor is said to be an expert in boxing, wrestling, judo and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and he began his professional MMA career at 42. His nickname was The Enforcer.
David has a daughter and lived in the south of England.
Summer temperatures in Death Valley are known to rise well above 120 degrees, and it is thought the actor died from heat related issues.
According to reports, Legeno’s body was found in such a remote part, a helicopter had to be called.
He was found by a small group of hikers and a final cause of death has not yet been determined.
Actor and mixed martial artist Don Frye has paid tribute to his "good friend" Dave.
He wrote on Twitter: "Just found out my good friend Dave Legeno’s body was found in Death Valley. It was too soon for a man that good. May GOD bless his soul."

The 50-year-old actor was interviewed about his role as Fenrir Greyback in Harry Potter in June last year, and gave us an insight into his role, as well as working with Helena Bonham-Carter, Alan Rickman and director David Yates.
When asked what the main question he gets asked by fans is, he told Flicks And The City: "How long it takes to get into the make-up? And I’m just really realising that the make-up took two and a half hours and it took someone a week to prepare the prosthetic."
He added: "The odd thing is I’d forget I was wearing a prosthetic and look like a fierce werewolf, and just start talking to people normally!"

As well as his huge part in Harry Potter, Legeno’s first major film role was in Guy Ritchie’s Snatch.
Since then he has starred in Batman Begins, Centurion, Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Snow White and The Huntsman.
The actor, who lives with his daughter in the south of England, also starred in Emmerdale from 2007 as Seamus Flint, and EastEnders as the character Tudor from 2004-2005.
Before that, the actor starred in The Bill from 2002-2003.
Harry Potter fans have paid tribute to the actor on Twitter, asking users to "raise their wands" in his memory.
One user wrote: "Rest in peace to Dave legeno, you were a great choice to play fenrir greyback, so potterheads, raise your wands out of respect for this man."
Another added: "RIP Dave Legeno :'(."
And one fan wrote: "R.I.P. to my fellow Dark Wizard Dave Legeno/Fenrir Greyback *raises wand*."

As well as his acting career, Dave was a professional fighter and an expert in boxing, wrestling, judo and Jiu-jitsu.
According to his IMDb page, he studied performing arts in his twenties before becoming a professional wrestler and moving into films.
It adds: "His fight and acting career however began to clash and when he was offered a role in Steven Berkoff’s On The Waterfront he had to regrettably decline due to fight commitments."
When he was offered his Harry Potter role, the actor and father-of-one reportedly put his fighting on hold.

Death Valley is a basin that is 282ft below sea level and is the hottest, driest national park in the U.S.
It is often the hottest part of America with daily temperatures of 49C, while at night the temperature has dropped as low as -9.4C. The highest ever temperature on record was 56.7C.
It got its name after a party of prospectors crossed it in 1849 believing that it was a shortcut to gold mines.
Rise of the Footsoldier actor Mark Killeen has paid tribute to "legend" David after it emerged he had been found dead on Sunday in Death valley, California.
Mark wrote on Twitter: "Rip dave legeno a legend and a dear friend xxx."
He added a snap of the 50-year-old actor smiling widely, and wrote shortly before it: "Very sad it’s true dave legeno has died rest in peace big man you will be missed greatly xx."

Harry Potter actor Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in all the films, has paid tribute to Dave in a moving message on Instagram.
Tom wrote: "Dave Legeno. It was always a pleasure. He was a great talent with a heart of gold and always had time for anyone.
"Dave was a soft, kind gentleman off screen but had the skill to be the complete opposite on screen.
"He taught me lots, You will be missed mate xx #DaveLegeno."
He tweeted shortly before: "Gutted to hear the sad news about Dave Legeno. He was a true Big, Friendly, Gentleman. Was a pleasure every time we met #BFG #DaveLegeno."

Cause of death ‘confirmed as heat stroke’
Inyo County officials have reportedly confirmed the cause of death as "heat stroke".
TMZ.com reports the autopsy was performed and confirmed the actor died from heat stroke, after going hiking in Death Valley, California.
Dave was found by a small group of hikers on Sunday.
