Keira Knightley has seen her body, in particular her boobs, resized in magazine spreads and promotional posters, but now the star has said enough is enough.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star’s slim frame made many headlines as a young actress after making a name for herself in the Disney franchise as well as big roles in King Arthur and Love Actually.
Now the 29-year-old beauty feels as though she’s in the best position to put her foot down over the Photoshopping of her body.
Talking about her recent edgy topless photoshoot for Interview magazine, Keira told The Times: “I’ve had my body manipulated so many different times for so many different reasons, whether it’s paparazzi photographers or for film posters.”

Keira, who is married to musician James Righton, referred particularly to the shoot for the September edition as she said: “That [shoot] was one of the ones where I said: ‘OK, I’m fine doing the topless shot so long as you don’t make them any bigger or retouch."’ Because it does feel important to say it really doesn’t matter what shape you are.”
The actress, who stars opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in the new movie Imitation Game, feels that women should celebrate each other’s shape but that it’s becoming difficult.

She said: “I think women’s bodies are a battleground and photography is partly to blame. Our society is so photographic now, it becomes more difficult to see all of those different varieties of shape.”
Keira Knightley’s name is synonymous with flowing gowns and period dramas, but the English beauty went for a completely new, stripped back (quite literally) look for the Interview shoot.
The 29-year-old was shot by Patrick Demarchelier, but in a twist for Interview magazine, it was Keira that was firing the questions at the renowned photographer.

In her interview with Demarchelier, Keira reveals that she’ll be spending her summer months poring over books – picking her next movie project.
“What am I doing? I just bought a load of books that I’ll read over the summer and hopefully choose another film based on that. I don’t know if that’ll happen, but it’s quite a good way of working,” she said.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star revealed that Demarchelier once gave her solid advice while on a fashion shoot.
“You said something really interesting to me on the shoot: ‘You have to relax your face, because that’s what good movie acting is, a relaxed face. It’s the same thing as having pictures taken’,” she revealed.
