The actor is in critical condition
The man driving the truck that crashed into Tracy Morgan’s limo bus and caused a fatal pileup has been charged by police.
Kevin Roper, a 35-year-old truck driver, was charged with 1 count of death by auto and 4 counts of assault by auto.
Roper was at the wheel of the 18-wheel lorry which ploughed into their Mercedes limo bus, which then careered into several other cars before ending up on its side.
Police believe the driver dozed off and didn’t see the limo bus carrying the Tracy and his fellow passengers, reports ABC News.
The star comedian was in the limo bus when the six-vehicle crash happened in Mercer County, New Jersey.
One passenger, comedy writer James McNair, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Tracy and his fellow passenger Ardie Fuqua were both left in critical condition.
Just hours before the collision, his touring pal Fuqua had declared: "Road life is a good life."
Furqua posted a picture from their gig on Instagram and told how they were looking forward to travelling home "in style".

"Road life is a good life! #TracyMorgan" he added.
Following the accident, police suggested the truck driver was only able to react at the last second before the accident.
"Driver failed to observe slow-moving traffic ahead," New Jersey State Police Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams said.
"He observed at the last minute — just prior to impact — the limo bus carrying Morgan and his party."
Morgan was on the road for his "Turn it Funny" stand-up comedy tour.
He was booked to perform at a casino in Dover, Delaware, on Friday night and had been due to appear on Saturday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The comedian spent seven years on Saturday Night Live before leaving the cast in 2003.
He went on to star in the sitcom ’30 Rock’ for seven seasons, playing an unhinged, reckless comedian called Tracy Jordan in the satire about network television.Tr
