Mosh Pitt: Brad gets the audience going
Is there nothing Brad Pitt can’t do? Now the Fight Club legend has showed off his singing voice with an impromptu performance.
Brad, 51, led an audience rousing chant at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
The World War Z actor took the stage to present Selma actor David Oyelowo with the Breakthrough Performance Award for his portrayal of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Before giving out the award, Mr Angelina Jolie addressed the audience, saying: "I also know that with any great film, any great performance, comes controversy and questions.
"I know that there is one lingering question in the back of your minds. It’s a fundamental question. I think it’s only fair that we air it out tonight. And that question is: how the hell do you pronounce his name?"
So the audience were not left with any pronunciation vagaries, he helped them along with a sing-song kind of to the tune of Olé, Olé, Olé.
When Oyelowo finally took the stage, he said: "You know you’ve broken through when Brad Pitt sings your name."
Pitt is one of the producers of Selma, which has been gaining a traction through awards season.
The movie is a chronicle of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march in 1965.
It is up for best motion picture drama at the Golden Globes, which will be handed out on January 11.
